Effective Long Term Hair Removal
Well, in this day and age, there are a number of methods, so let’s take a look at a few of them.
Depilatory creams come in different forms such as gels, creams and roll-ons. The product dissolves the hair but doesn’t work well on very thick or coarse hair. This isn’t really a lasting hair removal solution as the longest it will last is about a week. Chemicals in the products can cause irritation and dry skin.
Waxing is probably the most used method of longstanding hair removal and while it usually lasts from anywhere between three and eight weeks, however, it is quite a painful procedure and can cause irritation, scarring and ingrown hair.
Sugaring is a similar procedure using sugar, water and lemon juice rather than wax. It lasts for five or six weeks and is less inclined to cause irritation.
Laser treatment really is a lasting hair removal solution and can be permanent after a few sessions. However, it is very expensive, so unless someone has a serious excess body hair problem, it probably isn’t worth the money.
Electrolysis is another way of removing unwanted hair technique which involves a needle sending an electronic pulse into the hair follicle. This is not a permanent solution but it does delay further hair growth and is more often used on single facial hairs in women. It can be used elsewhere but it is slow and can result in scarring.
There is now a new hair removal solution which is a device using light energy. The skin sensor scans your skin for suitability and activates a pulse to remove hair. Results may not be immediately apparent and hair may still appear to be growing but after a couple of week it just falls out. More than one treatment will probably be necessary but it causes minimal discomfort and treatment times are low. A relatively low one-off cost makes this product the ideal solution.
