If it Works, It's Worth It
Price doesn’t matter for a product that delivers, say Indian women.
Breakthrough formulations, active ingredients, visible results – that’s what premium skincare brands promise, and the Indian woman is buying into them with a vengeance. Sales of premium skincare products has seen a significant rise across the country. In a four-metro survey focusing on modern attitudes towards body, beauty and skincare, more than 90% of the women surveyed categorically stated that they would spend on products that they believe really work, regardless of price.
The study, conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, covered 809 women in affluent SEC A households, ranging in age from 18 years to 50 years.
The findings reinforce what market trends have already established: expensive but result-oriented products that promise to fight age, stress, dark circles and pigmentation have come to stay on the Indian woman’s dressing table. Proving that she is looking beyond the customary acne solutions and fairness products and keeping pace with international skincare trends.
